OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
First United Methodist Church of Huntsville takes seriously our call to live out our faith by serving those in need.ÂIn doing so we share the good news of Jesus Christ.ÂIn the New Testament James tells us to "be doers of the word, and not merely hearers."ÂHands-on mission is our response to this instruction.

 February Communion Offering: Haitian Relief
All financial contributions given to the church for Haiti will be sent to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief). This ensures that 100% of every dollar given goes directly to aid the people of Haiti. UMCOR has had teams in place in Haiti for a number of years; in fact 7 United Methodist Mission Teams were on the island at the time of the quake. UMCOR has already mobilized and sent additional staff to the Dominican Republic and is working with Action by Churches Together, Church World Service, Global Medic and Muslim Aid.   Once non-governmental organizations are allowed and the situation is safe, UMCOR staff will move quickly to begin offering direct support in cooperation with the church.
