SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES at 9:45 and 11:00 a.m.
 
Sunday school classes are an integral part of Christian Education at FUMC. Our classes offer the opportunity for children and adults to grow in faith through study and fellowship.
 
 

Challengers Meets on 3rd Floor - Room 307 --9:45 AM

 Members of this class meet each Sunday to support each other and to discuss how to live a more productive, joyful and fulfilling life as they challenge each other to honor God by keeping faith with the responsibilities and tasks God has given. The Class is Led by Rev. Ellen Willett

 Upper Room Class Meets on 3rd Floor Room 304-- 9:45AM

This adult Bible class, organized in 1970, is blessed with a lot of active retired couples. Led by Dr. Jerry Bruce, the class studies the bible, cover to cover literally beginning with Genesis and working their way through Revelation.

 Friends Class Meets on 3rd Floor Room 301 --9:45 AM

This is a new class started in 2009 and is for adults of all ages who like to participate in lively discussions on a variety of topics led by various class members. The class uses adult Bible materials and/or a faith based book as a catalyst for discussions and personal reflections.

February 28 - April Lesson

      The Easter experience is a spiritual journey that has the power to change everyone who participates.  The journey will consist of viewing DVDs, reading pertinent scripture, and having class discussions of what we have seen, read, and felt in viewing the DVDs and reading the Bible.  Each episode brings the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus to life through dramatic storytelling and challenging teaching and explores a universal theme relevant to our lives all year.

     Join the class as they share the Last Supper with Jesus (February 28), hear the betrayals of Peter and Judas (March 7) Journey to the Cross (March 14) hear Mother Mary's thoughts as she witnessed Jesus' journey on the road to Golgotha (March 21), hear the interaction between Jesus and the thief on the Cross (March 28), and conclude on Easter Sunday, April 4, by sharing in Mary magdalene's miraculous experience at the Tomb.  Led by Gerald Skidmore.

 Inquirers Class Meets in Office Building Room 15 -- 9:45AM

This class of adult has lots of members who are couples who enjoys in-depth discussions of lessons on a variety of topics, including social issues as well as bible studies.

 Builders Class Meets in Office Building Room 17 -- 9:45AM

This class of retired couples and singles enjoys lecture style lessons from the Adult Bible Study, International Lesson Series. Class members alos meet monthly for lunch and a time of fellowship.

 J.O.Y. Class Meets in Office Building Room 18 -- 9:45 AM

This class of mostly senior adult women emphasizes fellowship, sharing and social activities in addition to Sunday programming of Christian education. Mrs. Phyllis Nichols, class teacher, presents the weekly lesson from the Adult Bible Study, International Lesson Series.

 Mens Bible Class Meets in Memorial Concourse -- 9:45 AM

This class of older adult men meet each Sunday morning for Bible study with a discussion format, using the Adult Bible Study, International Lesson Series.

 

 
   

Adult Sunday School Opportunities at 11:00 AM

COLLAGE CLASS FOR DIVERSE INDIVIDUALS – Meets on 3rd Floor – Room 307

A School Class for young adults and college students is under the leadership of Josie Erb, Dena Miller and Donna DeForge, for those who enjoy fellowship and an in-depth discussion based on the current week’s sermon scripture and message.

The GRAND SWEEP - Meets on the Third Floor - Room 301 - 11:00 a.m.

This Bible Study Class surveys the Old and New Testaments exploring Biblical narrative and doctrine in relationship to current issues confronting our daily lives. Class leader is Dr. John Wilson, engineer, physicist, professor and man of faith

NEW TRADITIONS CLASS – Meets in the Conference Room - Room 15 -- 11:00 AM
