We've Got Principles

The Social Principles of the United Methodist Church speak to human issues in our contemporary world from a sound bibical and theological foundation.  Through not considered "churchlaw", they are intended to be instructive and persuasive as they call us to faithfulness.  Participants in this 8-week class will join in open discussion on the church's stand on the death penalty, health care, gambling, tobacco, and much more.  Class Leader:  Rev. Ellen Willett

Windows 8 Computer Class

Join other class members in an introduction to Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 8.  Though this is not a class for advanced computer users, participants should be familiar with the use of a mouse and keyboard as well as some experience with earlier versions of Windows.  Participants will cover the basics as well as learn innovative ideas and tricks to learn how to work smarter and faster.  Cost for the Instruction Manual is $15.  Class Leader:  Bill Michaelson.

Honor Begins at Home

This 8-week Bible study uses DVD clips from the movie, Courageous, as a backdrop for discussion and insight on how husbands and wives can make new commitments to each other and to their children and in the process leave a strong legacy of faithfulness for generations to come.  Cost per couple:  $25.  Class Leaders:  Rev. Mark Pickett and Josie Pickett.

Spiritual Formation Group

Jesus gave us a complete picture of God and demonstraed how we can experience vitailty and fullness in our life with God (Col. 2-9, Jn. 10:10).  In this 9-week class we will explore and practice the six major spiritual traditions followed by different denominations as a means to help us envision and experience a balanced spiritual life.  Together the group will explore:  A Prayer Filled Life; A Virtuous Life; A Spirit Empowered Life; A Compassionate Life; A Word-Centered Life; and A Sacramental Life.   Cost for Book: $10.  Class Leader:  Rev. Scott A. Dornbush.

Jesus in the Gospels

As we travel from the birth of baby Jesus at Christmas, through the season of Lent and the death of Jesus upon the cross, participants in this 8-week class will take an in-depth look at the life of Jesus as presented in the various Gospels of the New testament.  Participants will see how scripture, tradition, reason and experience help us to understand and interpret God's divine truth as seen through Jesus in the Gospels.  Class Leader:  Dr. Terry Bilhartz.

Signing Bible Class

Members will take part in a Bible study that contains ASL versions of New Testament stories with lesson points to help us apply these stories to our everyday life.  Class Leader:  Leslie Michaelson.
