Sign Language Classes
First United Methodist Church will be offering a series of classes in American Sign Language during the Wednesday Night Live Programs at FUMC. The class equips you with Deaf culture and basic vocabulary skills so that you can communicate with the Deaf community. The classes are free and open to the public. The Class will meet through November from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the FUMC Coffee Lobby. This session will end April 17th, 2019.
Sign Language Choir
First United Methodist Signing Choir is a mixed group of deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people. Our aim is to raise Deaf Awareness in the community, and promote the use of American Sign Language, which we do by performing popular songs, hymns and carols in sign language.
The signing choir is held weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Coffee Lobby. All ages are welcome and no signing experience is necessary. The choir shares their talents with the congregation throughout the year.
