Member Care Visitation
FUMC Book Club
Members who take Christ’s ministry beyond the walls of the church by visiting our shut-ins and nursing home residents. Contact the church office at (936) 295-5441.

The Gathering Place
First United Methodist Church-Huntsville is a ministry partner with The Gathering Place, a free opportunity for a family caregiver to get a monthly break from caregiving responsibilities while their loved one participates in activities such as games, music, exercise, crafts, lunch, and socialization in a safe environment. Creekside Retirement Community sponsors the program and partners with several local churches to make the monthly Gathering Place available to the people of Huntsville and surrounding areas. The Gathering Place meets monthly at First Baptist Church-Huntsville on the first Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Under the oversight of professional staff from Creekside, the program is managed and operated by trained volunteers using an Alzheimer's Care Team model developed by CarePartners, a Houston-based non-profit with more than 25 years of experience sponsoring Gathering Places across Houston. Volunteer opportunities are also available.
