Current Sunday School Study - FATHOM
Fathom is a Bible study for teens whose lessons are a blend of narrative and traditional theological approaches to understanding the Bible story. Each lesson will focus on one passage that will launch into the larger context of God's story being studied,and how that story is meant to be theirs. Fathom creates space and tension for teens to wrestle with how to interpret, ask questions, and experience the Bible.

Current 2nd graders through 12th graders are eligible to attend Lakeview Camp this summer.
Lakeview Camp Information:
UMY Fundraisers will cover 50% of each Lakeview camper’s cost and each adult leader’s cost!
Please register ASAP! Complete the scholarship form and submit to earn scholarship money towards your camp fees when registering. After registering, notify Liz Morris.
Total Cost for each camper: $575
- Cost for each Camper: $287.50
- Registration Fee: $10
- Remaining Balance: $277.50
- UMY Fundraiser Contribution: $287.50
Total Cost Per Adult Leader: $250
- Adults chaperoning, please pay the $10 Registration Fee
- UMY Fundraisers will cover the remaining $240
What do I do if I need help paying my portion of the camper’s cost?
- When registering, apply for a scholarship. This can reduce the camper portion of the cost by $100 or more!
- If you need help paying the registration fee or the remaining balance, see Liz Morris or reach out to the church office. We have ISA scholarships available.
- We do not want anyone not to be able to attend due to finances

U. M. ARMY - TX/LA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with offices in Huntsville, Texas and Tyler, Texas. U. M. ARMY (United in Mission: Action Reach-Out Ministry by Youth) began in 1979 with a youth mission trip to Athens, Texas, where youth groups from several Houston churches gathered to provide home repair assistance to people in need.
Our mission is accomplished every summer when thousands of youth and adult volunteers sacrifice a week of their vacation to join God’s ARMY. Using a local Methodist church as a base where they gather to have their meals, sleep in classrooms, and worship in the Sanctuary. Participants spend each day of the week providing free home repairs for low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners in the surrounding area.

UMY Summer Retreat July 11-13, 2024
- Location: San Marcos, TX
- Cost: $65 per student
- We will be staying at FUMC San Marcos - https://www.fumcsm.org/
- Thursday - Travel to San Marcos that morning. Unload and enjoy an afternoon at the park and river - https://www.sanmarcostx.gov/931/Rivers.
- Friday - Spend the day at Natural Bridge Caverns in San Antonio, TX - https://naturalbridgecaverns.com/
- Saturday - We will float the river Saturday morning https://www.tubesanmarcos.com/, come back to FUMC for lunch and clean up, and head home later that afternoon.
- Note: We may be able to reduce the cost to $50 per student. This will depend on the Fresh Baked Fundraiser money raised this spring.
- If your family needs help with the cost, please reach out to the church office. We will have ISA Scholarship funds available for assistance.
